Glint Privacy Policy

Information we collect

Your camera images, microphone input, local network details, and saved place names stay on your device. Glint sends event names and outcomes to our analytics service by default; there is no in-app setting to turn this off. Examples include screens viewed, controls used, room-check progress, aggregate device and threat counts, safety scores, purchase outcomes, and short reliability reason codes. Events include a random installation ID, random session and event IDs, the app and iOS versions, timestamps, bounded durations, and StoreKit product IDs. We do not send camera images, audio, coordinates, room or city names, Wi-Fi names, discovered device details, local IP or MAC addresses, contacts, payment details, receipts, or advertising identifiers.

The installation ID links events from the same app installation. It is pseudonymous, not fully anonymous. The service receives the IP address needed to handle a request; short-lived hashed address data helps limit abuse. We do not use this data for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Glint collects derived room-check outcomes for analytics: aggregate device and threat counts, safety scores, and yes-or-no results. It also records product interaction, purchase history, app performance, and reliability events. The raw connection IP address is not stored in our analytics database or application logs.

How Glint uses device permissions

Glint uses these permissions to check your room on your device. Raw images, audio, nearby device details, and location are not sent to us. Only the aggregate results described above are sent for analytics.

• Camera — used to detect hidden camera lens reflections.
• Microphone — used to detect ultrasonic emissions from hidden camera electronics.
• Local Network — used to scan your local network for cameras and suspicious devices.
• Bluetooth — used to scan for nearby Bluetooth devices that may be hidden cameras.
• Location (While Using) — used to label archived scan sessions by city; this happens on your device and is not shared with us.

Subscriptions & payments

Glint offers in-app purchases. All purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. We never see or store your payment details. Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Third-party services

Glint uses our own analytics collector, hosted by Cloudflare, with the analytics database hosted by Neon, rather than a third-party analytics SDK. Apple handles app delivery, in-app purchases. We do not share usage events with advertisers or data brokers.

Data retention

Your camera images, microphone input, local network details, and saved place names remain on your device. Received analytics events do not expire automatically. We may delete them manually. Deleting the app removes its installation ID from your device and stops new events from that installation; reinstalling starts with a new ID.

Children's privacy

Glint is not directed to children under 13. We do not use usage events to advertise to or profile children.

Your rights

Usage events are tied to a random installation ID, not to your name, email address, or an account. Glint does not show you that ID, so we may be unable to find one person's records from a name or email address alone. You can ask about access or manual deletion at privacy@ginsberg.ai.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page and revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
