ClappyBoard Privacy Policy

Last updated September 23, 2026

The short version

Your productions stay on your device. If you choose to share usage data, the app sends pseudonymous events to our own service to help us improve it. You can turn this off anytime in Setup.

Information we collect

Your productions, slate fields, take notes, and exported CSV files stay on your device. If you choose to share usage data, ClappyBoard sends event names and outcomes to our analytics service. Examples include opening a screen, saving a mark, preparing an export, and completing a purchase or restore. Events include the app version, broad device type, a random installation ID, and times. We do not send production names, slate contents, CSV contents, precise location, or advertising identifiers.

The installation ID links events from the same app installation. It is pseudonymous, not fully anonymous. The service receives the IP address needed to handle a request; short-lived hashed address data helps limit abuse. We do not use this data for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Device permissions

ClappyBoard does not request any device permissions.

Subscriptions & payments

ClappyBoard offers in-app purchases. All purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. We never see or store your payment details. Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Third-party services

ClappyBoard uses our own analytics collector, hosted by Railway, rather than a third-party analytics SDK. Apple handles app delivery, in-app purchases. We do not share usage events with advertisers or data brokers.

Data retention

Your production data remains on your device. Unsent usage events older than seven days are discarded when the app next runs; the local queue is cleared when you turn off “Share usage data” in Setup. Turning the control off does not erase events previously received by our service. We retain received usage events for two calendar years after receipt, then delete them through hourly cleanup. To request earlier deletion, first turn off “Share usage data” in Setup, then email privacy@ginsberg.ai with the installation ID available in Setup. Backup copies may retain deleted data for up to six additional days.

Children's privacy

ClappyBoard is not directed to children under 13. We do not use usage events to advertise to or profile children.

Your rights

You can stop future usage collection at any time in Setup. Turn it off before asking about or requesting deletion of previously received events, then contact privacy@ginsberg.ai and include your installation ID from Setup so we can find the matching records. We cannot identify an installation from a name or email address alone.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page and revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
